· Involved in Karate for more than 20 years. Presently 3rd Dan Black Belt in Goju-Ryu Karate-Do, with direct affiliation and accreditation by International Karate-Do Goju-Kai Association (IKGA) based in Tokyo, Japan.
· Ex national Karate competitor with numerous local and international championships, and gold medalist in many national championship. Represented Singapore twice - 4th Asia Karate-Do Federation Senior Championships in 1999 and the 21st SEA Games in 2001.
· Possesses NCAP Theory Level 2 and NCAP Technical Level 1 in coaching. Registered coach (Karate-Do) under the National Registry of Coaches (NROC) of the Singapore Sports Council (SSC).
